Army looks to TeleCommunication Systems for RSTA digital data links at unmanned vehicle project office

U.S. Army officials needed reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition (RSTA) digital data link (DDL) kits and software licenses for the Unmanned Aviation Systems (UAS) project office of the Army's Program Executive Office Aviation (PEO AVN) at Redstone Arsenal, Ala. They found their solution from TeleCommunication Systems Inc. (TCS) in Annapolis, Md.
 
Officials of Army PEO Aviation awarded a $2.2 million order to TCS for UAS Project Office military telecommunications equipment. The Army Project Manager for the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (PM WIN-T) Commercial Satellite Terminal Program (CSTP) is funding this military communications equipment order through the Army's $5 billion World-Wide Satellite Systems (WWSS) contract vehicle.
