TeleCommunication Systems Receives $2.2 Million Equipment Order from U.S. Army

A world leader in highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) has received an additional $2.2 million order from the U.S. Army. 
 
Officials with TCS said that this award is funded by the Program Executive Office Aviation and relates to the continued supply of equipment to the UAS Project Office. The equipment includes Reconnaissance Surveillance and Target Acquisition (RSTA) Digital Data Link (DDL) Kits and Software Licenses. 
 
The U.S. Army Project Manager for the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (PM WIN-T) Commercial Satellite Terminal Program (CSTP) is funding this order through the Army’s $5 billion World-Wide Satellite Systems (WWSS) contract vehicle. 
 
Company officials claimed that TCS has established a proven track record for more than two decades as a trusted provider of communication technology solutions to solve the government’s toughest technical challenges, under conditions that demand the highest level of reliability, availability and security. 
 
 
  
 
TCS offers a family of deployable communications solutions, Swiftlink, and complete end-to-end managed services for converged (IP-based) voice, video and data solutions to organizations requiring seamless, highly secure connectivity between fixed sites and remote operations. 
 
Recently TCS announced that it has been awarded an order with a ceiling value of $6.1 million to provide SATCOM Communication and Mission Analysis (SCMA) Shelters to the U.S. Army.Officials with TCS said that the order is initially funded at $1.5 million and will be funded up to a total of $6.1 million if the options are fully exercised through August 2011. 
 
This award was made under the Army’s $5 billion World-Wide Satellite Systems (WWSS) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle in support of the Project Manager for the Warfighter Information Network - Tactical (PM WIN-T). 
 
TMCnet recently reported that TeleCommunication Systems (News - Alert) has received an additional $25.4 million in funding from the U.S. Army for Secret Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) and Non-secure Internet Protocol Router (NIPR) Access Point (News - Alert) (SNAP) Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) Satellite Systems. 
 
This funding is part of the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Life Cycle Management Command (CECOM LCMC) orders that were announced in August 2008 and September 2009.
